Is Resizing Photos Important For Bloggers?

Many bloggers love posting their photos online through blog posts. Although this is not an issue (especially if you’re a photo blogger, a travel blogger, or a food blogger), uploading way too many pictures can be detrimental to your blog’s health. Big pictures equals bad Blogspot SEO! But why exactly is resizing photos important for bloggers? Here, I count the reasons.

Resizing Photos

“Oh, what lovely pictures!” This is what you’d want readers to say when they see wonderful photos of your expedition in a far-flung area in Tibet, or if they view photos of a delicious dish that you uploaded on your blog. But what you will hear them say is, “This page is loading too long… I’ll just close the window and move on.” Yikes!

Why Resizing Photos is Important for Bloggers

Bloggers who want their visitors to enjoy their blog posts must always consider their visitors’ comfort before their own. Resizing photos may be tedious, but this is important for a blogger. Below, I explain why.

  • You will piss off Google if you don’t resize your photos. Oh, Google just hates slow-loading pages. You will get demoted if you have big photo files in your blog, which is a shame if you’re blogging for profit from Google ads! It’s Mr. Google’s aim to find websites that provide optimal reader experience, which is why it punishes blogs that have unresized photos. Yes, not resizing photos is bad for Blogspot SEO!

Kumon Franchise Opportunities

Franchising is a great way to earn from a brand that your market already trusts. Through a franchise, you get to take advantage of a trustworthy name, maintain the standards that come with it, and get your customers’ loyalty because your brand is familiar. And it isn’t only restaurants, coffee shops, or retail stores that offer franchise opportunities – even schools do! Kumon, for instance, offers franchise opportunities.

Kumon is a school known for its expertise in special education. It caters to kids with unique education needs. Children with attention deficit, learning disabilities, or autism can benefit from special programs offered by Kumon.

Learning Differences

Many people mistake attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder as something that equates to mental incapacitation. I have personally interacted with others who erroneously believe that kids with ADHD have lower IQs. Although I try my best to correct these misconceptions, not everybody believe me.

Learning in School

What’s worse, adults sometimes poke fun at kids with special needs or at the conditions these children have been diagnosed with. For instance, people can make jokes about autism when they have a friend who seems to “live in his own world”. These jokes are way too common, and although it may seem funny at first, it also pokes fun at people who have actually been diagnosed of these conditions. And it established a social stigma that tends to stick.

This post brought to you by Kia Rio. All opinions are 100% mine.

Do you like scavenger hunts? Do treasure hunts make you want to say, “Argh, matey!” If so, then the Kia Rio Scavenger Hunt just might be the thing for you! Oh yes, it’s going to be an exciting scavenger hunt as you go around Los Angeles, seeking out hidden clues with your best buddy or your loved one. And if you succeed, you get to shake hands with a true-blue celeb from Hollywood.

Sounds good? Read on.

Scavenger Hunt by Kia Rio

Two teams, both comprising two best friends, participated on the Zip and Dash geocache contest in Los Angeles using the Kia Rio 5-door 2012 model. At the end of the road, a prize awaited the winner – and the “prize” happened to be Christina Milian, whew!

Kia Rio

Despite the challenging hunt, the contestants had a great time because Kia Rio was a great car model, what with its USB jack (great for MP3 flash drives you have with you), a rear camera display that helps you look behind you without turning your head, and a Bluetooth capacity. Techie, huh? But I love the USB jack the most, being a music buff myself! All thanks to the UVO Technology courtesy of Microsoft.

The contestants had to visit five different venues: the Merry-Go-Round found at the Griffith Park, Rodeo Drive, Amoeba Records, Roosevelt Hotel, and Pink’s Hot Dogs. I think the hardest challenge involves the Rodeo Drive - but that's just me! Read on for the exciting video.

Teaching Kids With Autism

I can imagine how challenging yet fulfilling it is to have a loved one who has autism. Perhaps the most challenging part of loving a child with autism is the fact that very few people really understand what autism is.

And yes, it is a challenge to provide the best care and education for kids with needs that are different from our own. Fortunately, there are schools that offer lessons that cater to the unique needs of children with autism. For instance, Kumon simplifies the different maths for autistic children.

Kumon Teaches Kids with Autism

Kumon has been around for quite some time. Many other schools cater to children with unique education needs, but Kumon remains one of the most trusted names in terms of special education. Every child – whether diagnosed with autism or not – carries much potential. And realising this potential is every parent’s dream for his beloved child.

Blogger Google Authorship

Setting up Google authorship for Blogger has many benefits, which I mentioned in a previous article. If you’re not familiar with Google Authorship, I recommend that you read that blog post before you proceed.

Google authorshipAbove is a screenshot of how my blog post from my other blog would look like if it appeared on Google search because I’ve successfully set up authorship. If you’re ready to set up Google authorship for a Blogger or Blogspot blog, then here are easy steps for you to follow.

Google Authorship for Blogger: Easy Setup

Establishing your Google authorship for Blogger blogs is easy. I’ve been scouring online sources for easy guides but I had to struggle with each one. I then decided to make my own. Before we start, make sure you’re logged on to your Blogger and Google Plus profiles. It helps if you’re using the same email address to log on to both accounts.

If you don’t use the same email address for both, you can always open a new Blogger account using the email you use for Google Plus, authorize that Blogger account as an administrator for your blog by clicking on Settings > Permissions > Add Author. Add the email address of the new Blogger account you just registered. Approve the authorship offer which you shall receive via email. Then, using your original Blogger account, convert the Author status to Admin status.

Once that’s taken cared of, proceed with the steps below. (Don’t forget to backup your template before you attempt any changes, just to ensure that you have something to revert back to in case you don’t follow instructions correctly.)
