Pony Show Off Exhibit
If you love art and you love shoes but you never heard about Pony Show Off! Exhibit and Awards Night, then you better read this and weep. This year, Pony held a digital film, poster, illustration, photography, and Facebook contest. The awards night, held last December 11, 2011 at 55 Events Place, Tomas Morato, Quezon City, was star-studded and showed how unorthodox thinking holds a special place in every artist’s heart.
Pony’s campaign relied on the unconventional, which is why the brand called brilliant artists from all around the Philippines to come up with illustrations, posters, short films, or photographs that portrayed the tagline, “Let’s get in on!”
This banner greeted me near the entrance and got me excited about the exhibit. Talk about being rebellious!
The entries were all winners to me. Here are a few posters that made me pause and think:
Before the awarding started, people buzzed about and enjoyed the exhibit. I clicked away all night, taking pictures with my measly phone camera. (Someone, please sponsor me for a digital camera! Hihi!)
Contestants waited patiently for the program to start. I can tell they are quite anxious to get called onstage. The night’s hosts were Ramon Bautista and Nani Naguit, who gamely engaged the crowd with their “good looks” (according to Ramon) and “great hosting skills” (according to Nani). They gave the audience a few guffaws, willing everyone to come participate and stay – “or else you’re paying for your food!” as Ramon chided. Hilarious, those two!
The night’s funniest moment: someone dropped his wallet and was called to the stage. Ramon Bautista asked him to name the contents of his billfold, comically going through the pictures and revealing photographs of more than two girls! (Eek, oops!) And oh, isn’t that an invasion of his privacy? Well, it’s all to “verify the owner’s identity” after all.
The shoes in the middle of the exhibit made me want to go shopping. Man, do I want those kicks! Unfortunately, most of the shoes I’m drooling over are for men, argh!
NEXT POST: Why Ramon Bautista called me onstage, pictures of Champ, Bamboo, performances by Wolfgang and Kitchie Nadal, plus the official winners of Pony Show Off! Exhibit!
