Less Cancer, More Birthdays

The American Cancer Society has launched a “More Birthdays” campaign. The message of the campaign is, “Here’s to less cancer and more birthdays.”

Cancer is one of those topics that people try to steer clear of – unless they suddenly find themselves having it. There is an unspoken fear of cancer and, sadly, some think that avoiding the topic is tantamount to avoiding cancer when in fact, the opposite is true: awareness helps promote health-seeking behavior.

Let’s all promote cancer awareness by learning about cancer and spreading the word. Through your blog, Facebook account, and Twitter, you can talk about cancer and how it can be prevented or detected early. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure – that might be cliché, but it’s a hundred percent true!
