Suplado Show Bloggers Night
Stanley Chi is about to embark on another endeavor: hosting his very own Internet radio show! Named after his sold-out book, Suplado Tips, is his upcoming show on Dig Radio (formerly NU 107) called the Suplado Show. To promote his Internet radio show, Stanley Chi held a Suplado Show Pre-Launch and Bloggers’ Night last August 26, 2011 at The Grillery Café in Makati.
Justin Pinon, tagged as the Mental Assassin, opened the show with mind-boggling mentalism. He wowed the audience by guessing words thought of by participants from the crowd. Everybody wanted to get picked, given how he promised PhP20,000 if he made a mistake – which, of course, he didn’t.
Mr. Ony Carcamo, the country’s top ventriloquist, gave a winning performance with Mr. Parley, the puppet who has had one drink too many. Mr. Parley was made to answer questions from the crowd, such as, “Sisikat ba ako (will I ever become famous)?” to which he answered, “Sa hitsura mong yan, inisip mong sisikat ka (with a face like yours, you thought you’d be famous)?!” Of course, the audience burst in unrestrained laughter.
The man of the hour, Mr. Suplado Stanley Chi, gave the last performance. His jokes brought out more laughs and snickers, ending his stint with a Tsinoy joke on courtship that brought down the house.
At the end of the show, Stanley Chi awarded the winning bloggers of the Suplado Blogging Contest with their prizes. Richard Mamuyac, who garnered first prize, won a limited edition Suplado Watch from UniSilver Time and gift certificates worth PhP1000. The rest of the winners bagged gift certificates, discount coupons, autographed Suplado Tips books, pins, and Suplado t-shirts.

The venue was filled to the brim with bloggers and guests, with every punchline earning bigger, bolder laughs. Saying that the night was a success would have been an understatement. After the show, the guests stayed to satisfy their craving for a comedy fix.
With mentalist Justin Pinon. We know what you’re thinking!
With Mr. Parley and Ony Carcamo. Mr. Parley, please don’t talk to me while you’re up close – you really give me goosebumps.
But wait… I have no pictures with Stanley Chi? Bah, always happens. Tsk, tsk.
