Stef Factoids I
I thought it was a good idea to get to know myself again.
(What music do I like? What food do I love eating? What clothes do I prefer?)
I dyed my hair, got a haircut. Went around the mall looking for anything that might catch my fancy. And after a few days of alone time, here’s what I found out about myself:
I like Auntie Anne’s. Original pretzel and caramel dip. But eating it alone makes me feel a little sad, which I find weird.
- I like pho chin nam, Vietnamese noodles with thin strips of beef. Something fascinating about cooking food when it’s already in the bowl.
- People-watching is something I can do for a long time. Trying to figure out people is like putting together a jigsaw puzzle. That guy is lying, that girl is looking for someone. This child wants to go home. So many people with their own stories to tell.
- I like wearing dresses. I thought of myself as a shorts-wearing kind of girl, but it looks like I’m more of a girly girl than I would like to admit.
Music is something I can’t yank out of my system. And there’s something about Sara Bareilles’ song Gravity that got me hooked. And just like that, I hear Megadeath’s 99 Ways to Die and I smile to myself because I love that song with a fierceness that surprises me.
- People think I’m kikay, but I’m a serious person. Being a “blonde thinker” is a mask I love wearing, but there are just too many thoughts swimming in my head. (Like what level of significance and margin of error would I use in a study determining the effect of caffeine and frontal lobe function? No, seriously?)
- I don’t like roses…
