Rude Security Guard

I decided to bring my cat with me during lunch. Unfortunately, as I was about to enter this popular fastfood chain that I will not mention, I was unceremoniously barred from entering.

security guard

It would have been alright if the guard had said, “I’m sorry, but there are no pets allowed inside.” Instead, he raised his stick to block my entrance. He then pointed to a sign on the window that said No Pets Allowed and told me with a frown, “Nakasulat.”

I felt like I’ve done something wrong and I’m being shamed for it. I then realized I shouldn’t feel guilty that I had my cat with me.

If I were to assume he was rude because he was “just a security guard,” that would be an insult to all the well-mannered security guards I’ve encountered. It shouldn’t take a white-collared job or a fancy degree for someone to know how to treat other people with kindness… or am I just kidding myself?

Perhaps I’ll just take my business to McDonald’s or Jollibee next time. My little cat still won’t be allowed inside, but at least I won’t feel like I should be ashamed I brought him with me in the first place.

  1. I was with my then 17-year-old son at NAIA, waiting for my husband to arrive. When he did, we have to go to him because the driver will pick us up at the arrival area.

The guard stopped us and said (in a loud-to-humiliate-you-voice), "HINDI PUWEDENG 2 ANG PUMASOK! ISA LANG!"

Me : Ah ganon po ba (still trying to be nice and respectful), pero pano po itong anak ko?

    Guard : HINDI PWEDENG 2!

Me : E yun sasakyan namin papasok dyan sa loob para ipick up yung.... (I wasnt even finished talking when the rude guard answered back)

Guard : KUNG ME SASAKYAN IDAAN NYO DITO PARA MAPATUNAYAN NYO NA ME SASAKYAN KAYO, O KUNG TAXI MAN KELANGAN ME TICKET! (sabay taas noong tumingin ng malayo)

Me : (was about to lose my cool, but the AMALAYER incident is still fresh and I dont want to be famous in a bad way) Hindi ka naman galit, kuya? Nagtatanong ako ng maayos, pwede ka naman sumagot ng maayos diba????

Guard : Ha? panong galit? di ako galit ha? (now in a calm voice)

Me : Ayan, pede ka naman pala magsalita ng maayos e..

The other guard tapped on his shoulder, and said, "Ma'am, anak nyo pede pong magantay dito, daanan nyo na lang po."

Me : AYAN! Gayahin mo kasama mo, magalang!

God, I really wanted to do another "AMALAYER" thing, but I chose not to.

I dont understand why some security guards think that they can act like that..

  2. Yes, it's almost okay sometimes to do an Amalayer stunt, especially with really rude guards! Haha. Thanks for sharing your story!
